More uncertainty at Leeds United

The Football League released a statement to Leeds United on the 25th of February reminding the club and fans they’re yet to receive all the paperwork from both parties which involves GFH and Eleanora Sport. Blame whoever you like but situations like these always halt a football clubs progress as Leeds have previously experienced before.

In the back of our minds we know this season is going to end up just like the last. But in reality, was this season ever about promotion? Of course for the fans it is which is why we buy tickets, the fans want to see success at the club but as each game passes, the dream is fading. As Brian McDermott stated earlier on in the season; hope, expectation and disappointment is the true emotions shared among fans every season. Although this season isn’t yet finished, it’s clear even Brian has contradicted himself.

The urged attitude would be to stay positive and not write off the season just yet as their is still 15 games to be played however, the current teams in the top six look to be real contenders. Strong squads with ambition whose owners are willing to put their money where their mouths are. I’m not saying Leeds United don’t have these qualities, Leeds just lack these qualities which every fan is crying out for.

The Eleanora Sport takeover is all but done which pends on Football League approval. This is a major sticking out point because who knows what the Football League will decide to do with a man convicted of fraud. Given all the speculation surrounding this takeover, it’s understandable why the Football League are requesting more documents and answers from Massimo Cellino.
This process however cannot be beneficial for anyone at Leeds United. Leeds manager Brian McDermott has spoke about the importance of this deal on numerous of occasions to allow the Football Club to move forward.

Brian himself is under the impression GFH are still in charge of the club yet they refuse to pay the wages and other expenses? GFH also let Massimo Cellino, his two sons and daughter roam Elland Road and Thorp Arch as if they’re already in control. I’m sorry but at what Football Club do you see this shambles? The amount of reports and speculation surrounding the club is extremely stressful to hear, other Football Clubs must be laughing at Leeds United. Us fans have no clue as to what Leeds are getting themselves into with the prospect of Massimo Cellino owning the club; we’re all eyes and ears but I’d say we’re more or less accepting the fact he’s going to own Leeds United and there’s nothing we can do. The fans just want it done for the manager, players and staff sake.

Just end the uncertainty once and for all and let Leeds United March on together.
